Unplanned

Dear Church,

I believe that it is important for me to explain our promotion throughout the community regarding the film Unplanned.

This movie is the story of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director who was involved in almost 22,000 abortions. She eventually met the Lord, and gave her heart to God, and has since become a spokesperson for life. I have read several articles regarding this movie, and we have joined with Bott Radio to help get the word out promoting it. Abortion has been a blight on our nation and it is currently back in the “front pages” of the national news cycles. Yet, the lines are being drawn. Abortion is currently being advocated in areas of our country like never before while at the same time there is a growing number of Americans claiming to be pro-life. God seems to be putting His hand on this important issue both nationally and in our hearts.

In a surprise ruling by the MPAA, this movie, which is by the same producers of God’s Not Dead and A Case for Christ, was given an R-rating for “violence directly associated with the abortion process.” I have included links to two articles in which Abby Johnson and the producers explain the R-rating. The irony is that in many places a young girl can get an abortion without parental consent, but to come to this movie they will need parental consent.

I would encourage us to pray that the message of this movie makes a difference in society and in our nation.

HCC Friends of the College Banquet 2019

Posted by on Mar 14, 2019 in News & Events | 0 comments

Save the date for our annual fundraising dinner!

We are grateful to all of our “Friends of the College” for your support each year. Providing affordable, quality, biblical education requires a wide community of friends. As a College, we have a strong desire to both serve and partner with the larger Northeast Missouri community. HCC is here to equip and prepare a generation to fulfill the call of God on their lives and in so doing, to make a real difference in our communities, in our nation and even around the world. The boost we receive from the community, through attending the dinner, helps us accomplish this goal.

This year’s banquet will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at Heartland Christian College’s Legacy Building, 500 New Creation Road, Newark. President Kris Palmer will be speaking on “The vision of where the College is going and how you can play a part.” Funds raised will be used to renovate the student cafeteria and rec center.

Watch for details our events page about this evening on where friends of the College will enjoy a great meal, meet students and faculty, and learn how to become part of what God is doing at HCC.
