Heartland Missions Conference 2014
MARCH 2-5, 2014
SUNDAY 9:30AM & 6:00PM • MONDAY THRU WEDNESDAY 6:30PM
Each year, Heartland Community Church hosts a missions conference and welcomes pastors, missionaries, and friends from around the world. As our guests come from across the U.S., Brazil, the Philippines, Haiti, Egypt, Moldova, Mexico, Israel, and other nations, they share about what is happening in their lives and ministries. Meetings are held at the Heartland Christian Academy, 101 Nations Boulevard.
Our theme this year is “Prepared for His Coming” – from Matthew 25: 31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
In this series of parables in the book of Matthew, Jesus urges His followers to be on the alert, to be faithful, and to care for “the least of these.” We look forward to corporate times of worship, and hearing from men and women whom God is using throughout the earth to preach the Gospel, care for the hurting, and call souls to the Father. Come and let your heart be stirred to prepare for His coming!

Penny Wars Have Begun!
Each year leading up to the Heartland Missions Conference, students at Heartland Christian Academy & Boarding School participate in what we call Penny Wars. They bring in as many pennies as they can for 4 weeks to help raise money for the missionaries we support here at Heartland. At the end of every week a total is taken and whichever class raised the most money receives a special treat at lunch.
Silver coins such as quarters, nickels, and dimes are called bombs and count as negative points. The students get an opportunity every morning to bomb another class of their choice. In the end, however, all proceeds go to support a great cause. The money we have raised for penny wars has gone to build a water pump for fresh water in India, provide supplies for children in Oaxaca, Mexico, and last year we raised a total of $9,153.28 that was used to buy land for a school and fund a feeding program in Colombia, South America. This year all the money that we raise will go to Jericho.
If you would like to donate and help raise money for Penny Wars, give your spare change to an HCA student, or click here to give online through our Egiving site.

Heartland Missions Trip to Israel & Jericho
The highlight of Heartland’s October 2013 missions trip to Israel and Jericho is always seeing old friends and our brothers and sisters in Christ. We saw firsthand what Tass and Karen Abu Saada of Seeds of Hope are doing in the Middle East. Founded in 2006, Seeds of Hope works with local citizens and charities to provide modern day necessities to the impoverished communities in the Middle East. Their desire is to bring long-term change to families through education, economic development, cultural exchange, and humanitarian aid.
The Heartland missions team was also part of church services, pastors and leaders meetings, and touring some of the Holy Land sites. The video report below will give you an overview of our trip.

South Dakota Missions Trip Report
In October of 2013, a work crew from the Heartland Community traveled to South Dakota for a missions trip. They were able to remodel a kitchen, put up fencing around some ministry buildings, and do some electrical work on a site where a group of believers meet.
Thanks to everyone for their prayers, and to the crew for a job well done. Click the link below to see a photo overview.
